Jane – Blood Pressure Normalizes

January 15, 2008

Dear Dr. Franson, and the entire staff of Franson Family Chiropractic:

During this past summer, I was not feeling great. I had started an exercise routine of walking 2-3 miles/day. I am an active person (I own a dance studio and am a dance teacher), so adding this activity should have been a positive situation! During my walks, I experienced sciatic pain down my right leg, which had occurred off and on while I was teaching for the past year or so. I also felt pressure on my chest so decided to go to my primary care physician for a physical. I was told that my blood pressure was high (didn’t even address the sciatic pain at that point, because the blood pressure needed attention).

My doctor prescribed medication in September to bring it down. Right away, I hated the way it made me feel; tired, dizzy, just basically ‘out of it’. We altered the medication, cutting the dose in half, but I still was not happy with the way I felt. I was miserable, honestly, and it was beginning to affect everyone around me; my family, my friends, my employees, and I began to think that even my business was suffering due to my condition.

When complaining about my symptoms to my friend, Kim, she suggested that I look at chiropractic care as an alternative. I decided that I had nothing to lose. I knew I probably had to address the sciatic issue since I’m a dance teacher, and if chiropractic care helped the blood pressure situation, it would just be a bonus. I decided to stop the medication at the end of October, and made my fIrst appointment to see Dr. Franson in November.

Almost immediately after my first few adjustments, I felt better. Just overall felt healthier! My energy was back, my sciatic pain was subsiding, and my body was just working more efficiently! I have to admit, I was a skeptic at first. … how could these adjustments “fIx” everything??? I was conditioned to take the easy route by taking a pill to cure my problems. It was certainly easier with my busy schedule than going 3 times a week to the chiropractor!

I’m so thankful, however, that I put my faith in Dr. Franson and his team, because I just wasn’t ready to go down the road oftaking pills for the rest of my life. I wanted to take control of my body, my well being and my life. I have implemented many of the staff’s recommendations by making a conscious decision to eat better, exercise and help my body work as efficiently as possible. The “Be Well” philosophy just made sense to me, and I’m so excited about the new “ME”! My sciatic pain is totally gone, and I am able to work pain free once again!

The most exciting news and probably the most surprising to everyone I tell, is that gradually my blood pressure went down. Initially, my blood pressure was 150 over 100. Within the fIrst couple of weeks, it slowly and gradually kept dipping down. By the end of December it was hovering in the normal region. Today, just 8 weeks into treatment my blood pressure reading was 116 over 75, with no blood pressure medication!

I cannot put into words the gratitude I feel to Dr. Franson and his entire staff, for giving me the opportunity to gain control of my body, my health and my life! Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

Jane O’Donnell, director
